Amazing night landscape was captured in Garafia, the Spanish municipality on the island of La Palma, part of the Canary Islands. The center of an old windmill, not working since 1953 combined with the Northern celestial pole, the axis of rotation of the Earth projected on the Northern sky.
The star of "mill", or the so-called star trail (eng. star trails), reflecting the rotation of the planet obtained with the camera on a tripod and continuous shooting 39 shots with a 25 second exposure.
Pale purple band of the milky Way and the diffuse glow from the Galaxy of Andromeda are also visible in the night sky.
Traditionally the windmills on La Palma were used to grind grain and make flour of gofio. Products from this flour was part of the basic diet of the islanders. Over time, to replace windmills came electric.
