A bright meteor lit up the Norwegian night sky in different colors.
The fall of the space rock was observed in the southwest of the country on Saturday evening and prompted local residents to call the authorities to find out its origin. Agder police assured local residents that it was most likely a meteorite.
The meteorite flashed different colors as it passed through the atmosphere.
"The police received a call about a strong beam of light in the sky, which alternated with several colors - it was visible from the Vigmostad area," the police wrote on Twitter. "The police contacted the Meteorological Institute, who suggested that it could be a meteorite."
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has confirmed that the meteorite belongs to the annual downpour called the Northern Taurids.
