Initial data
Galina Alexandrovna writes to the Editor:
On December 24, after work, we observed 2 flashes near the constellation Ursa Major, around 17-00.
Later, around 17-30 - 17-45, I saw a large star in the southern part of the sky, which decreased in diameter and disappeared. It was as if she was showing me where the danger would be. Or were the satellites already scouting? we lack the knowledge to correctly distinguish a UFO from a satellite... The satellite is a small silver-colored star. And here, like an ordinary star, it is large and sometimes yellowish-lemon in color. And I've seen this color.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
Satellite

Ordinary satellites, which often look like single, not very bright luminous dots moving smoothly in the night sky, are quite often mistaken for UFOs. After the Starlink satellites (near-Earth satellite systems developed by SpaceX, in order to create a cheap and high-performance satellite Internet communication channel and technical transmitters for receiving and transmitting signals from earth and orbit) were launched, it became possible to observe groups of satellites (up to 60 pieces) flying one after another.
