Photo editing began to be used almost immediately after the advent of photography techniques. They were divided into methods of photomontage without manipulation of the image after receiving the photo and retouching of the photo itself or its negative (plate, film, etc.)
Investigation
As it turned out, it was a social experiment posted on Youtube in 2007 under the username "Barzolff814". Gaining millions of views on Youtube, UFO Haiti hit the headlines of CNN, FoxNews, LA Times, etc.
35-year—old Barzolf is a professional animator who studied at one of the most prestigious art schools in France and has ten years of experience working with computer graphics and commercial animation.
In total, it took Barzolf 17 hours to shoot a video for Haiti and the Dominican Republic. He did it all himself, using a MacBook Pro and a set of commercially available programs for three-dimensional animation, including Vue 6. The videos are 100% computer-generated.
The videos, he said, were conceived as research for a feature film project he was working on with Partizan, the French production company responsible, among other things, for Michel Gondry's film Eternal Sunshine of the Pure Mind.
When "Eternal Sunshine" producer Georges Bermann was contacted to verify the story, he said it was all true and that Barzolf was an "absolute genius" who could "make anything absolutely real."
To prove that he was really behind the video, Barzolf agreed to provide the LA Times with a new video from the spacecraft. The video titled "Proof" depicts a scaled-down version of one of the spaceships hovering over a Parisian street. When the camera moves, the viewer sees two elderly women in a cafe, one of whom is holding a remote control. Humorously, of course, computer graphics are also used in this video.
