Brian Gross was cycling along a small trail in the Hickory Creek Forest Preserve. Soon he began to hear footsteps and see movement among the trees.
At first, he tried to ignore it, but it soon became very obvious that several "things" were watching him, and when he looked, they were either running or dodging.
The figures stood on two legs, were short, bluish-blue in color, which seemed to grow bolder as the witness began to return home. He saw one of them standing on the side of the road, he called a friend on his cell phone, then heard a loud grunt, and then something that sounded like a gallop.
He could still see a few short bluish figures watching him from the forest. The witness also thought he was being followed by a rider from about 10 to 20 yards into the woods.
He counted 10 small bluish figures that seemed to disappear when the witness reached the bridge.
