Initial data
Five young men were practicing martial arts at the local Devil's Hopyard park late at night when one of them, 18-year-old Paul Poniatowski, heard his name being whispered.
He heard it:
"Paul ... Paul ... leave now, or you'll join us forever."
At least one of his friends had heard it, too. Discouraged, they decided to leave. On the way out, another of the young men, Todd Silber, heard laughter.
Another, 18-year-old Joseph Robinson, said he saw an animal-like "demon" sitting on a fence, although he could not describe it in detail. Poniatowski said he saw a shadow with a notch. Silber said he was thrown into the air and into a tree. Later, he found four cuts on his pants.
Another man, 18-year-old Sean Searn, saw something so frightening that he refuses to talk about it. At his request, they went to the home of a local pastor.
