Initial data
In the past, the state of Connecticut has always been the area of several UFO reports, but now this is not true. Since 1985, there has been a sharp increase in UFO reports in Fairfield, Litchfield and Hartford counties. This UFO is described as a semi-circle or boomerang with multi-colored lights. It is reported that even more incredible size of this UFO is equal to the length of a football field!
This UFO, which was recently spotted in Connecticut, is undoubtedly the Hudson Valley UFO described in " Night Siege UFO in the Hudson Valley "(Ballantine Books, 1987).
For some reason unknown to this researcher, the giant boomerang UFO moved its activities from New York to neighboring Connecticut. The latest sightings occurred on May 26 this year on Interstate 84, one of the busiest highways in the northeast.
Between 9: 30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., more than 200 people called local and state police to report a huge object with bright lights flying low over a highway near the towns of Newtown and Southbury in Connecticut. Those witnesses who called the state police in Southbury were told it was nothing more than a group of ultralight aircraft from Candlewood Airport flying in close formation and hanging colored lanterns from the bottom of the plane.
Police also told witnesses that the plane was painted black, so all that could be seen were the lights. Many witnesses to the phenomenon could not believe the official explanation.
One of the witnesses to the UFO was Mrs. Betty Prue from Middlebury, who said that the object hovered over her house without sound for more than two minutes. She had no doubt that what she was looking at was one solid object. prue heard about the explanation, which he could not accept, as he served in the air division of the navy.
"it was one plane and not like any plane i've ever seen in my life."
Another witness was Mr. Randy Etting, a commercial airline pilot with more than thirty years of experience. Mr Etting said the idea of the ultralight theory "is the babble of idiots." Mr. Etting was watching the lights of his home in Newtown, Connecticut, at about 9:45 p.m.
He said there were at least eight lights of different colors flying very close together and without sound. When the object passed by his house, he observed it with 7 X 35 binoculars. Mr. Etting told me that the UFO was one object, and he saw some heat waves coming from the object that distorted the area around the light sources. Mr. Etting, along with his neighbors and his son, watched the object for more than ten minutes as it slowly sped away to the northwest. All witnesses agree that the UFO was a round and solid object.
Etting's group observed the UFO as it passed near I-84. At this time, more than a dozen cars stopped to look at the UFO flying overhead.
One witness, Charlie Tuperman, described what happened that night.
"It was about 21: 30 or so and I was driving east on 84 around the Southbury area when I noticed these lights ahead of me. They were low, and it looked like a Boeing 747 was about to land on the highway. This thing had about ten lights in the shape of a semicircle, and the lights were yellow, green, blue, white, and red. This thing was moving very slowly, from east to west.
Suddenly, everyone on both sides of the road started to hit the brakes and pull over to the side of the road. This was dangerous, as several trucks were clearly trying to do the same. I stopped and watched the thing go right through the west lanes.
I saw a dark mass behind the lanterns, and there was no sound. i saw the lights of the state trooper right in front of me and thought he had been summoned to find out what was going on.
Then all of a sudden this thing gets really bright, I mean all the lights just got ten times brighter in about ten seconds or so, then they faded back to where they were before, and it's about as bright as the lights on the wings of an airplane.
It really scared me. I wanted to leave because I thought there was some kind of invasion or something, I just wanted to go home. Besides, I was afraid that some trucker would crash into my car.
i watched it fly west and lost it. i turned on the radio to get the news, but i didn't hear anything about ufos on any of the local stations."
close encounter in new milford
At about 10: 00 after a series of observations in the area of I-84. It was noticed that the UFO was flying to the west. He was then seen in the New Milford, Connecticut area by Robert Nellis, his friend Jeff, and Mr. Nellis ' dog. They were all driving in Nellis's car on the shoulder of Highway 7 in the northern section of New Milford. They were on their way home from a long day of boating in the northern part of the state along the Connecticut River. The dog began to bark and cry, and at that moment Jeff looked to the northeast and saw several bright lights hovering over a pine grove less than a quarter of a mile away. They stopped the car, and at that time their car radio started to sound "funny" with all types of strange audio interference that interfered with the operation of the station they were listening to.
They stopped the car and continued to stare at the lights. At that moment, the lights began to slowly approach them. They were struck by the size of the object, " larger than a football field." the dog continued to bark as the subject drove past their car. Neil looked up and saw a very dark structure connecting the lights that stretched to the back of the object. He said it was the shape of a tear, and the lights in front were in a semicircle. The object was so large that he said "it covered the sky and obscured everything that was overhead."
According to him, the object was made of a type of "dark gray material with very low reflectivity." There was no sound, and they estimated that the giant UFO was no more than 500 feet (150 m) above their car. The UFO then flew over their car and then moved north. They both noticed some flashing lights under the object, which gave the impression that something was moving.
They watched the UFO slowly recede. The total duration of observation was ten minutes, but both men returned home after forty minutes. This may be a case of missing time, or witnesses observed the object longer than they thought.
Neil called me within days of my interview with him, as he felt "awkward and upset" about his close encounter. My research team and I are still investigating this case, and it seems that this may be another one of the many cases of lost time that are growing in this area.
photographic proof
This UFO was so bright and big that it was only a matter of time before someone showed up with a photo. To our surprise, we were contacted by a high-ranking person in the Southbury area who photographed the object, which was moving very slowly over I-84 at about 21: 30.
the photographer Wants To Remain anonymous, As His position is very sensitive. He is a very well-trained man with a college degree who fears that the publicity surrounding the photo could harm his career. He gave us full rights to the photo and his surveillance report, provided we didn't use his real name. We will call him David. (Actually, that person was Randy Etting; B. J.)
David was driving along I-84 on official business when he saw the light. The lights were in the northwest and heading east. As he watched, the object tilted, and all the lights became much brighter. At this time, he was dragged away from the road and a camera was prepared. The UFO was at an altitude of about 45 degrees above the horizon. Because of the traffic jams, he managed to take only one picture. Its camera was 35 mm with a 50 mm lens at 1.8, the film type was Kodacolor ASA 400, the shutter speed was 1/60 of a second, or 1/125.
He wasn't sure about the setting, but feels like it's 1/60 of a second. Then the object moved silently to the east. During an interview with this researcher, David told me that he was sure there was a solid object behind the headlights. He also said that when the object was rotated, it seemed that the lights on the sides were coming out of the main mass, but he realized that this effect was caused by a change in the position of the object from his point of view.
What about the photo:
A photographic examination are now looking at a photograph. our initial research showed that the image is no doubt hanging in the sky above the earth.
Also, the photo was viewed by Dr. Willie Smith, a well-known scientist and UFO researcher.
Dr. Smith's initial calculations show that the size of the object ranges from 650 to 1600 across! We believe that this photo is one of the best nighttime UFO images taken in the last twenty years.
There were quite a few sightings within a twenty-five-mile radius, and they all reported the same thing. A close examination of the original negative shows that the light is reflected from some structure in the central part of the object, and is also in a perfect semicircle.
There is no doubt that the UFO photo is a single solid object. We hope to get more data on photography and observations in the coming weeks. I made an ad in the local newspapers asking for videos, photos, and reports of sightings of that night.
a rational explanation?
What about the theory that UFOs are nothing but ultralight lights from Candlewood Airport? we interviewed the state police on this theory. The officer said that they were wrong about the airport, it was not Candlewood, but Stormville Airport. The flight instructor at Stormville later told us that there is only one ultralight in Stormville, and it only flies during the day, as they are forbidden to fly at night.
ufo sightings in the northeast continue. In the following days, I received several calls from witnesses who saw groups of military helicopters in the observation area. One of the witnesses took a picture of it education. Is the government involved in the mysterious events in the Connecticut area? Many residents believe that the government is well aware of UFOs and does everything possible to downplay the significance of sightings, explaining their absence.
i called the nearest bradley international airport to see if they had any information about the sightings. I was informed by Air traffic control that no formations or large aircraft were detected on the radar at this location and at that time.
I was also told that if the "plane" did not have transponders (a device installed in the plane that helps identify them on radar), they would not be detected at that location at an altitude of less than 2,000 feet. i have enough witnesses at various locations simultaneously observing ufos to determine that the approximate altitude was between 1,000 and 1,300 feet.
based on this information, my calculations show that the span of the lights was at least 900 feet! Its apparent size in the sky was quite large, as can be seen in the image on the 35mm frame, which takes up almost half of the negative.
From the photo and witness statements, it is clear that there was more than an ultralight plane in the sky over Connecticut that night.

This UFO that has been seen recently in Connecticut is without a doubt the Hudson valley UFO which is described in Night Seige The Hudson Valley UFO Sightings (Ballantine Books 1987).

The Etting party was observing the UFO while it was passing close to I-84. At this time over a dozen cars pulled over to view the UFO as it passed overhead. One witness a Charlie Tuperman described what happened that night.

That really scared me. I wanted to get going because I thought there was some type of invasion or something,I just wanted to get home. Besides I was afraid of some trucker plowing into my car. Close Encounter in New Milford
At about 10:00 after the series of sightings in the I-84 area. The UFO was seen heading to the west. It was then seen in the New Milford Connecticut area by a Robert Nellis his friend Jeff and Mr. Nellis dog. They were all in Nellis car off a side road off Route 7 in the northern area of New Milford. They were driving home after a long day of boating upstate along the Connecticut river.The dog began to bark and cry and at that point Jeff looked over to the northeast to see a number of bright lights hovering over a stand of pine trees less than a quarter mile away. They stopped the car and at that time their car radio began to sound “funny” with all types of strange sounding static that interfered with the station that they were listening to.
They stopped the car and continued to watch the lights. At this moment the lights began to move slowly towards them. They were amazed at the size of the object, “larger than a football field”. The dog continued to bark as the object passed over their car . Neil looked up and saw a very dark structure connecting the lights that extended toward the rear of the object. He said it was teardrop in shape and the lights in the front were in a half circle.The object was so large he said that” it covered the sky and blocked out everything overhead”
The object he said was made of some type of “dark grey material with very little reflect ability”. There was no sound and they estimated that the giant UFO was no more than 500 feet above their car. The UFO then passed over their car and then shifted towards the north. They both noticed some type of flashing lights under the object that gave the impression as if something was moving. They watched the UFO slowly move away. The total duration of the sighting was ten minutes, however both men arrived home forty minutes later. This is could be a case of missing time, or the witnesses observed the object longer than they thought.
Neil would call me for several days after my interview with him since he felt “uneasy and upset” about his Close Encounter. My research team and I are still investigating this case and it seems that it may be another of the many missing time cases that are escalating in the area.

The photographer wishes to remain anonymous since his position is very sensitive. He his a very highly trained college educated man who fears that the publicity surrounding the photograph could hurt his career. Also the photograph was looked at by Dr. Willy Smith a scientists and UFO researcher of some repute. Dr. Smith’s initial calculations show the object to be anywhere from 650-1600 across! We believe that this photograph is one of the best nighttime UFO pictures taken in the past twenty years. There were quite a few witnesses to the sighting over a twenty-five mile radius, all reporting the same thing. A close examination of the original negative shows that the lights are reflecting off of some type of structure in the central part of the object.Also the lights are in a perfect half circle. There is no doubt that what ever the UFO photograph represents it is one solid object. We hope to get more data on the photograph and the sightings in the weeks to come. I have taken an add in the local papers asking for videos and photographs and sighting accounts from that night.

The UFO sightings in the Northeast continue. In the days to follow I received several calls from witnesses who saw formations of military helicopters in the sighting area. One witnesses took a picture of this formation. Is the government involved in the mysterious happenings over the Connecticut area? Many of the residents feel that the government is well aware of the UFO and is doing its best to play down the sightings by explaining them away.
I called nearby Bradley international airport to find out if they had any information about the sightings. I was informed by air traffic control that no formations or large aircraft were tracked on radar at that location and time.
I was also told that unless the “aircraft” have transponders (a device placed in aircraft that helps identify them on radar) in them they would not be picked up at that location at an altitude of less than 2,000 feet.
