A tall, mysterious creature. Police officers who received reports of something jumping from roof to roof and chewing on the porch. It is reported that the creature also tore open the screen Windows and scared the dog, police chief James Bundren said on Wednesday.
"It's Halloween time, and there may be a lot of creatures out there. From time to time, someone calls and says they think they heard this creature."
Last week, a resident told authorities that something about six feet (1.8 m) it chewed through his porch, screen, and railing, Bundren said.
A resident heard a noise at the front door at night and went to investigate. Bundren said that when the door opened, he saw "an image of a man, but he had a head that was chewing and slamming the door.
"The resident told the police that he quickly slammed the door. He looked out the window and saw his frightened dog running down the street. Bundren said the pet still hasn't returned."
Another resident told police that she heard something large land on one side of her roof, go to the other side and jump off the awning. But the police didn't find any tracks near the house.
"After this happened, there was a lot of unrest here," he said, adding that there are still calls coming in from people who say they heard the creature.
Bundren said police have no suspects, but the first homeowner may have seen a man holding a large dog in front of him.
