A spectacular photo was taken at the man's apartment while his housemates were away, prompting him to pack his bags and leave.
The image, which at first glance seems perfectly normal, was sent to a Reddit section where people discuss ghosts.
"When I hear knocking and noises in the kitchen, I take a picture and see it," Reddit user, OopySpoopyMan, captioned the photo .
If you zoom in on the door at the end of the hall, you'll see a faint outline of what looks like a face or, as some people have pointed out, a mask.
The Reddit user then provided more context for those asking in the comments to the thread.
One person asked if OopySpoopyMan felt safe in their home, to which they said they didn't feel safe and that they were packing their bags, ready to go back to their parents ' house.
"For more context, I live with 3 friends, but was home alone during the shoot," he said in another comment.
"After taking the picture, I checked the kitchen and found no one. Then I checked every room, and there was no one else in my house. The front door is locked and all the Windows are closed. I have no idea what happened."
Someone asked what the noise was coming from the kitchen, and OopySpoopyMan said it was like "feet shuffling or clothes rubbing against each other."
In the comments, people had some theories about what is visible in the picture.
