The young couple noticed an orange balloon descending through a layer of clouds and landed on a ridge behind the tree line.
Twenty minutes later, the husband saw a large bright object rising vertically from the same ridge, stopping in the air, then moving horizontally and disappearing into the distance. The object that descended was the size of a balloon.
(The Center received 55 calls from 15 counties describing the fall of a glowing object over new Jersey.)
The orange sphere landed on the ridge. Two witnesses saw the UFO descend and land, while many others saw a larger object rise from the same spot 20 minutes later.

Summary: A young couple sighted an orange ball descending through the cloud layer and appeared to land on a ridge behind the tree line. Twenty minutes later the husband observed a big, bright object ascending vertically from the same ridge, pause in mid-air, then move horizontally and disappear in the distance.
