Initial information from sources or from an eyewitness
Incident date:

Location:
Нант
France

In June 2012, after dark, a man named Antoine noticed what he describes as an amazing phenomenon in the cloudless sky. This phenomenon lasted about 10 minutes.

Indications:

"It was June 20, 2012 (I'm not quite sure of the date to 1 day) around 23:00 in the sky of Nantes (Chantenay district).

I looked at the stars in the cloudless sky.

I noticed a star that was bigger than the rest and raspolozena the right of a group of stars called the Large Medvedeva. This is an indication of the group of stars is not 100% accurate, because I have no special knowledge in the field of astronomy and maybe I'm wrong.

I looked at this big star a few times nothing special, of course, she was more than all the rest, but there was nothing strange: she did not move and always maintained the same view.

At some point I looked back at star and saw that she was completely out. The disappearance was stable: the star disappeared, decreasing, until it became invisible. The extinction phase lasted about 2 seconds.

I unsuccessfully looked for it in the sky for the next half an hour. In the following days about 23 hours I looked at the sky: I've never seen that big star.

I would like to know if my observation match observation of the ISS or any satellite."

Original news

Hypotheses

List of versions containing features matching the eyewitness descriptions or material evidence

Meteor

Meteor, "shooting star" is a phenomenon that occurs when small meteor bodies (for example, fragments of comets or asteroids) burn up in the Earth's atmosphere. A similar phenomenon of greater intensity (brighter than magnitude -4) it's called a fireball.

Satellite

Ordinary satellites, which often look like single, not very bright luminous dots moving smoothly in the night sky, are quite often mistaken for UFOs. After the Starlink satellites (near-Earth satellite systems developed by SpaceX, in order to create a cheap and high-performance satellite Internet communication channel and technical transmitters for receiving and transmitting signals from earth and orbit) were launched, it became possible to observe groups of satellites (up to 60 pieces) flying one after another.

Investigation

Versions testing, their confirmation or refutation. Additional information, notes during the study of materials

It may be a meteoroid, heading straight for the observer or a geostationary satellite.
