Regulars at The Miners Arms in Alfreton, Derbyshire, have long believed the ghost of a former landlady haunts the premises.
With stories not going anywhere, landlord Lewis Ward decided to investigate and check out the pub's CCTV.
He analysed footage captured when the bar was closed in the early hours of Friday morning.
And Lewis was stunned at what he saw.
In the eerie video, the bar is closed and all the lights are off.
There are three high chairs at the bar – but suddenly the one in the middle appears to move by itself and edges slowly across the floor.
It then seems to move again but with more force as the clip ends.
Lewis, 39, said he was at a loss to explain what happened, but regulars think the spirit of a past landlady is responsible.
“Personally I’m a bit of a sceptic,” he said.
“But customers seem to think it’s an ex-landlady.
“No one can come up with a name, but some customers say they have seen a woman’s figure."
And there could be more evidence as Lewis said there have been more bumps in the night.
He added: “We’ve also had hand dryers starting by themselves.
“And I’ve had a few things happen in the cellar like CO2 canisters, which keep the beer fizzy, being turned off.
“Some of it I can put down to the machines but there are times when I can’t understand what’s going on.”
Landlady Lisa, 32, is convinced its something spooky, but Lewis is keeping an open mind.
“My wife is a firm believer but I like to look for the logical explanation,” he said
