The witnesses were two Royal canadian air force, who was flying F86 Sabre. These planes flew West over the canadian part of the Rocky mountains at 36,000 feet about one hour before sunset. One of the pilots saw a "bright light which was pronounced and disc" that resembled "a shiny silver coin" located above a thick layer of clouds. It was much brighter than the sunlight reflected from clouds. The duration of observations is estimated to be between 45 seconds to 3 minutes. The first pilot saw the object reported the observation to the commander of the flight, and then took a picture on color film, Kodachrome.
