Context: I came home tonight and noticed a bright white ray, which at first I took for a shooting star. The bright "ray" remained stationary for a while, then began to rotate around its axis and change color while remaining stationary (imagine a rolling ball).

Suddenly he turned back into a "ray" and seemed to stagger back and forth. I shot a few videos (until my phone's battery ran out), the beam eventually disappeared, and then reappeared deeper in the atmosphere, but still incredibly bright (I have this video too).

Context: Came home this evening and noticed a bright white beam which I initially thought was a shooting star. The bright “beam” stayed stationary for a moment then began rotating on its axis and changing color while staying stationary (imagine a rolling ball). Suddenly it would turn into the “beam” again and sort of totter back and forth. I took multiple videos (until my phone ran out of battery) the beam eventually disappeared, then reappeared deeper in the atmosphere but still incredibly bright (I have video of this as well)
