Initial data
In a continuation of the disturbing trend that has been observed in Oregon over the past few years, one of the ranchers reported that one of his bulls was recently killed in such a way that it can be assumed that he was the victim of a mysterious phenomenon of "cattle mutilation".
According to a local media report, this case occurred at the end of last month in the community of John Day, located in the eastern part of the state. While checking the animals on his property, Mat Carter found a fallen bull that apparently died a few days ago, and the condition of its remains was particularly unusual.
In particular, Carter noticed that blood was drained from the bull's body, and his genitals, as well as lips and tongue were removed with surgical precision.
Adding another layer of intrigue to the case, the rancher noted that no trace of the perpetrator was left at the scene of the massacre.
"There are no tracks, no tire prints, nothing," he complains.
Considering that these details correspond to the phenomenon of cattle mutilation, Carter suspected that such an incident could have happened on his ranch, and hastened to report it to the police.
However, because the bull was discovered more than 24 hours after its death, authorities were unable to conduct a proper autopsy of the animal to determine what could have killed it. The absence of any evidence at the scene most likely means that, as is often the case in cases of cattle mutilations, the incident will eventually remain unsolved. Echoing the words of many ranchers who have lost animals due to this strange phenomenon, Carter said:
"It's really weird. There is no logical explanation for this."
At the same time, he did not speculate about what could have killed the bull, stressing that he does not believe in UFOs or "any other strange phenomena." Although Carter may have been stunned by what happened, this case most likely did not come as a surprise to the Oregon authorities, since a chilling wave of cattle killings has been recorded throughout the state over the past few years. Alas, this latest incident at the Carter ranch suggests that the series of strange murders is not over yet.
Hypotheses
Post-mortem changes

Because ordinary people are rarely familiar with the nuances of postmortem changes in organisms, it can often take them for something mystical.
Gray meat flies eat rotting tissue, leaving a sharp edge. This explains the "surgical" removal of organs and parts of the skin. However, such behaviors of the flies many take for the interference of aliens or attacked by unknown creatures.
