Bright light outside of Edmonton / Sherwood Park Amazing that this happened to me! When I went outside, I heard the cat screaming in pain. In short, I found a guard cat that was really just "skin and bones".... he ate 5 cans of cat food… But when I was feeding this poor kitten, I saw a bright white light in the distance.
I would say that this is the SOUTHWEST of the true north. This isn't the first UFO I've seen in this area. The last time I saw a UFO was WEST of my location. I live OUTSIDE OF Edmonton, Alberta. I am near 2 SMALL air ports. So I see a lot of planes. I even remember seeing an unmarked black helicopter fly no more than 10-20 feet (3-6 m) over our house once as a child… I never thought about the importance of this incident until recently. Look at how many times these unnamed helicopters have been reported when it comes to UFOs and even more CATTLE mutilations.
Although, as far as I know, I have not personally heard of cattle maiming in my area. Anyway, when I was feeding this poor cat, I saw a bright light in the distance. Go in the direction of SHERWOOD PARK. It's a city outside of Edmonton.
I wanted to stare at that light for as long as possible, but I tried not to distract myself from the poor sick cat and the fact that small trees were standing in my way. I didn't stay fully focused on it. I would say that a minute or two after I saw the bright light, it just disappeared. I'd say it was VERY far away, but it couldn't have been a star, given how low it was to the horizon.
It gets dark pretty quickly here at this time of year, and I can honestly say that I've never seen a star that was so bright at this time, or even moved in that regard. This bright object moved slightly during the 1-2 minutes I was observing it. It didn't move randomly ... But I would say it was moving UP ... not UP, as in space or in the atmosphere, but UP ... It was a HUGE distance, but no plane or anything like that could give such a bright light from such a distance.
I really wanted to get my binoculars to see the object, but being just a human being, I could only help a poor starving cat. I lost the location of the object, (from my point of view because of the trees) completely gone. All the trees around here have lost their leaves, but I'm still without my glasses. But when a bright object disappears in this way for a period of time and the direction it was moving in, and the fact that there were no red or blue lights, which rules out any plane, just leaves me at a loss.
I lived on a farm, and from what I noticed on this website, that sometimes "advertising lights" can be a factor in reporting UFOs. But let me tell you this: I have never heard, seen, or even considered the fact that advertising lights will be located in or around Edmonton, Alberta.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, the stray cat is in a SAFE house right now.

If I had to estimate the distance to the object, I would say...... Quite far... .. From my current location, I'd say I'm still a long distance away… Even if I moved to the nearest highway, I would still say I was still 1/6 of it away. It was far away... but very bright.
FYI: I also saw this object during a meteor shower, and I can tell you that it wasn't a meteor.

Long story short, i found a stay cat that was really just skin an bones…. it ate 5 cans of cat food… :\ But as I was feeding this poor kitty, I saw a bright white light off in the distance. But let me tell you this, never have I heard or seen or even considered the fact that advertising lightings will be within or around the area of Edmonton, Alberta. OH, and if your wondering, the stray cat is at a SAFE shelter now. By now he will of been adopted. If I had to estimate the distance of the object I would say…… Quite far….. From my current location, I would say I was still a large distance away… Even if I got over to the closest highway, I would still say I was still 1/6 distance away from it. It was far… but very bright. FYI: I also saw this object, while an Meteor shower was occurring, and I can tell you that this was no Meteor.
