Initial data
I was cycling home from a friend's house when I saw three orange lights crossing the tree line outside the city. I would say they were between 20 and 50 feet (6-15 m) apart.
My first thought was that they were Roman candles or rockets, but they just kept going up and stayed in a straight line. They went up, and you could see them arching down again. They descended about half the distance, then turned up again, took off, and disappeared very quickly. Never having crossed the distance between them.
The entire meeting took no more than 15 seconds. For about a month, there were reports of orange lights in several counties in the area. I wish I could remember the exact date.
Original news
I was riding my bike home from a friends house when I saw three orange lights coming over the tree line beyond town. I would estimate they were 20 to 50 feet apart from each other. My first thought was that they were roman candles or flares but they just kept going up and stayed in a straight line. They went a ways up then you could see them arch back down. They went down to about half the distance then curved back up and shot off and disappeared very quickly. Not once breaking the distance between them. The whole sighting took no longer than 15 seconds. For about a month there were reports of orange lights throughout several counties in the area. I wish I could remember the exact date.
