The two boys, who lived in a base building at a local Navy submarine base, were on the playground when they saw a large round metal object hovering 20 to 40 feet (6 to 12 m) above the house.
He shone a beam of light on the house, then passed over the boys and shone a large beam on them. Through the hole in the object, they could see a creature with large oblong cat ears.
the entity was leaning over what looked like a searchlight and pulling a lever; a second similar entity was in another hole in the lower left corner of the object.
The creatures were six feet (1.8 m) tall, had oval-shaped heads, and their eyes were bluish-green and round with long lashes. Their mouths were wrinkled. The creatures ' fingers and toes have been described as "suckers".
The ship finally disappeared from view.

Two boys who lived in base housing at the local Naval Submarine base were out in the playground equipment when they saw a large circular metallic object hovering 20-40 feet over the house. It shone a beam of light at the house then came over the boys and shone a larger beam on them. Through an opening on the object they could see an entity with large elongated cat-like ears. The entity was bent over something resembling a searchlight and was pulling a lever; a second similar entity was on another opening on the bottom lower left of the object. The beings were six-foot tall, had oval shaped heads, and their eyes were bluish green and round with long eyelashes. Their mouth was wrinkled. The fingers and toes of the creatures were described as resembling “suction cups.” The craft eventually disappeared from sight.
