My husband and I were in our apartment on the second floor. Our adult son led the dog down the stairs. He came back to tell us to come down and take a look.
We didn't run, we walked. Together with many other people, We witnessed a huge dark Rectangular object that slowly Moved over our heads From south to north. It was already getting dark, and it reflected the streetlights below and the lights of the surrounding area.
Flames erupted around him. No sound at all and very slow. It took at least 10 minutes.
It was shocking to see. The next day, the newspaper said that it was a Russian satellite or space debris that burns up when entering the atmosphere. There was no such thing. He was heading and traveling slowly. We are not crazy or gullible enough to believe this story.
Somewhere my son has a clipping from the statesman Austin. I never wrote down the exact date and time. We didn't take pictures. I think we were all stunned.
