I was returning home (to CT) after visiting relatives in Beacon, new York. (I can't remember the exact year.) I was on i84 eastbound between Exit 15 (Lime Kiln Rd) and Taconic Parkway when I caught a spot where this huge object was approaching me from the North.
I watched for about 60 seconds and then drove off the road (about 0.33 miles to Taconic). I went up the hill to watch this thing fly right over my head.
It was huge, and its underside looked a bit like something out of the "Close encounters"movies. I also felt like I could throw a rock and almost hit him, but I knew it was out of reach. It seemed to stop or slow down, as if it saw me and was looking to see what I could do.
(I thought to myself that if I had a camera and took a picture, this object might fall and pick me up.)
So I stood there for about 5 minutes and watched him... it was like he was " talking»:
"Yes, that's right, we let you see it, but don't do anything to make us angry."
It had very little noise... a low hum, and it moved very slowly. It then continued South to the West of Taconic. Then, when it could have been finished, Philipstown, I saw the high beam to the left of the triangle come off and start flying across the sky, very wildly, for about 1 minute ... then, all of a sudden, it flew (in the blink of an eye) in a perfectly straight line back to where it was.
Then I went to get back in my car and noticed that several other cars (heading West on 84) had stopped off to the side.
I think I was the only person who got out of his car. When I got to the intersection of 84 and 684, I looked in the rearview mirror and saw this huge white creature coming towards me. It was very large and high in the sky.
It was all silver and bright white and didn't have the shape of a boomerang (the shape is hard to describe... maybe like a child's top... and everything is "sparkling"). When I saw it, I was a little scared because I thought that maybe because it allowed me to see it up close, it was coming back for me (for some reason). I picked up the pace and drove home.
When I got home, I told my wife and then wrote down everything I saw… I also drew a boomerang shape with red, white, and green lights.
Then I called my father, who worked at Stewart air force base, and told him what I had seen, and let me know if anyone in Stewart had said anything about it.
Later, he said that no one said anything, but he saw the article in the newspaper.

I watched for about 60 seconds and then pulled off the road (about .33 mile before the Taconic). I climbed up a hill to watch this thing fly directly over my head. It was huge and the underside looked a bit like the Close Encounters movies’ craft. I too felt I could have thrown a rock and almost hit it but I knew it was out of reach. It seemed to stop or slow down as if it had seen me and was watching to see what I might do. (I thought to myself that if I had had a camera and taken a picture that this object might have swooped down and picked me up.) So, I stood there for about 5 minutes and watched it…it was like it was “saying”: “Yes, that’s right, we’re letting you see this, just don’t do anything to make us mad”. It had very little noise…a low hum and it was moving very slowly. It then continued to travel south just to the west of the Taconic. Then, when it might have been over Philipstown, I saw the far light on the left of the triangle break away and start flying all over the sky, very wildly, for about 1 minute…then, all of a sudden, it streaked (in an instant) in a perfectly straight line back into the same spot it had been.
I then went to get back in my car and I noticed a few other cars (heading Westbound on 84) had pulled over to the side. I think I was the only person who had gotten out of his/her car. As I got to the intersection of 84 East and 684, I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw this huge white thing coming toward me. It was very big and higher in the sky. It was all silver and brilliant white and didn’t have the boomerang shape (it’s hard to describe the shape….maybe like a child’s spinning top…and all “sparkly”). When I saw this I was a bit scared because I thought that maybe, because it had allowed me to see it up close, it was coming back for me (for some reason). I picked up the pace and drove home. When I got home I told my wife and then wrote down all I had seen…I also drew the shape of the boomerang with red, white and green lights. I then called my father who was working at Stewart Air Force Base and told him what I had seen and to let me know if anyone at Stewart said anything about it. He later said no one said anything but he had seen an article in the paper.
