La pareja estaba en su Apartamento del tercer piso en el Norte de Sydney cuando vieron tres linternas tenues que parecían rayos sobre un gran árbol, cerca de su balcón. Cuando salieron al balcón para investigar, no encontraron ningún rastro de la fuente de luz. En su lugar, encontraron una gran nave cilíndrica flotando sobre un edificio de apartamentos. Se cree que el barco inusual estaba a una altura considerable, pero sus dimensiones lo hicieron notable. El observador también describió una sensación repentina, extraña y abrumadora, casi siniestra.

A couple were in their third floor apartment in North Sydney when they noticed three dim flashlight like beams above a large tree near their balcony. As they went out on the balcony to investigate, they found no trace of the light source. Instead they discovered a large cylindrical craft hovering above the apartment block. It is believed that the unusual craft was at a considerable height but its sheer size made it visible. The observer also described a sudden, strange overwhelming feeling, almost ominous.
The couple observed the craft for three minutes before it moved 5 degrees south. It appeared to be closer than before, giving them a detailed view of its structure. The craft positioned itself on an angle (approximately 20 degrees according to the sketch).
A pair of binoculars were obtained that gave a pristine view of the UFO’s outline. It was described to be a steely matte gunmetal colouring with a light refraction of gradient showing it’s surface, shape and colour. Two rectangular shapes featured at the end facing towards them. Both shapes bore eight red lights, arranged in two columns of four, positioned vertically and parallel to each other.
Over five minutes, both felt that they should phone their friend about the encounter. The craft was still visible when they reached the phone inside, however as they glanced away for a few seconds to dial, it disappeared.
