Maximova L.F.'s message about the observation of an unusual object in Leningrad.
One winter (in early 1976), I was returning from work and around 19:00 I found myself on 3 Internationala Street (now Suslova Street), near the Dachnoye metro station. It was dark when, at an angle of 30 degrees above the horizon, I saw a cigar-shaped body moving very slowly above the horizon from north-west to south-east (or from west to east). The object felt like a material body with clear contours. dark gray uniform color, medium brightness, without metallic luster - it seemed to be illuminated from below by the light of city streets. The nose of the object was rounded, the tail was as if chopped off. There was some kind of formation in the area of the tail section, maybe a glow, but unfortunately I don't remember it now.
The ratio of the length of the "cigar" to its width was approximately 6:1. There was no spark or noise from the object. It seemed to me that the object that I took for a rocket was flying close to the observer and at low altitude. I also wondered why he didn't hit the buildings. The total observation time was about 10 seconds until the object disappeared behind the houses.
I have not experienced any negative effects. No aircraft were flying in the observation area at that time. The weather was calm, frosty and cloudless. many passers-by also noticed the unusual object.
5 days later, a message appeared in the Leningrad newspapers about the flight of a car over the city.
