Initial data
October 23, 1985, executive officer of the m\x "Baltic-35" Rudometov Viktor Pavlovich, in the Baltic Sea, Luben-Riga course, IR = 60.5 degrees, good weather, visibility 5 points.
At 4-25 on the left, bearing 29, with the ship's location 54 degrees 47 minutes 0C and 12 degrees 50, the height above the horizon is 20 degrees, a bright dot flashed and from it went fast pulsating concentric circles - "waves" of pale green, bright.
After a few seconds, as the radii of the circles increased, only the outer circle remained, and beams of rapidly pulsating waves appeared in place of the inner circles. The outer circle was continuously increasing with decreasing speed. A bright light gleam remained on the surface of the water.
The first three phases (flash, pulsating circles and wave beams) lasted no more than 2-3 minutes. Then the waves disappeared, the circle increased in size, became "Thicker". The stars were clearly visible inside the wheel. The central point dimmed, shrouded in haze and pulsed faintly. With the increase of the "wheel" in size, which was happening more slowly, the intensity of the glow decreased. Finally, the ring reached a huge size, its lower part disappeared over the horizon. At 4-45 the phenomenon stopped.
All the instruments were working fine. Nothing unusual was observed in the radar.
A similar message was made by helmsman m \x Naumov G.G. In particular, he points to:
1 - the appearance of a pale blue haze inside the circles at stage 2.
2 - "the hoop had a pale blue color.
Watch navigator Serebryannikov V.N. watched for 10-15 minutes.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
