An eyewitness from Almelo noticed how a dark black ball silently hung in the air, and then suddenly disappeared after 12 minutes:

I was driving from Verdun and saw a black ball to the left of the Sun. Photo a little later.

Constantly stuck in the same place.

I was stuck in traffic, so I had enough time to consider it. When I entered Wierdensesrtaat, I saw it right in front of me... almost in line with the road leading east to the center of Almelo. Then a row of trees got in the way... I thought I'd take a better picture behind the trees...but then he suddenly disappeared...also nowhere to be seen.

Donkere zwarte bol hing stil in de lucht. Na 12 min opeens weg.

ALMELO, OV — Ik reed vanaf Wierden en zag links van de zon een zwarte bol. Foto is van iets later moment.
Bleef constant op de zelfde plek hangen.
Ik stond in de file dus had tijd genoeg om het te observeren. Toen ik de Wierdensesrtaat op kwam zag ik um recht voor me…bijna in het verlengde van de weg in oostelijke richting-centrum Almelo. daarna stonden de rij bomen in de weg..ik dacht ik maak na de bomen een betere foto…maar toen was het plots verdwenen…ook nergens meer te zien.
