The 4th year cadets of the Higher Naval School, while in practice in the waters of the Gulf of Finland, observed a strange atmospheric phenomenon.
On September 7 of this year at 4:6 a.m. we did not sleep in the morning because we were on signal watch and were on the upper deck of the ship. The weather was calm, very clear, cloudless, such that the Milky Way was visible in the starry sky.
At the specified time, according to the bearing of 20 degrees from Kronstadt Island, a bright luminous arc of regular shape will rise above the horizon at the top of the table.
It gradually spread out across the sky and dimmed, there was a faint glow under this arc, which also gradually dimmed.
A brightly glowing triangular body rose under the arc, from which glowing "whiskers" also moved downwards in different directions,
A ball of bright blue-green color rose symmetrically under this body.The entire ascent time was about 3 minutes, then the body seemed to dissolve, the ball stopped and the same thing slowly moved away from it in different directions

The balloon hung unchanged for 20 minutes, then it began to spread out, taking different shapes gradually from sunrise to 6 a.m. after sunrise, it disappeared.An old fortress blocked a small part of the horizon for us to view, because our ships were moored at this fortress, at about 4 hours and 50 minutes. We decided to climb the fortress to get a better look at the horizon.
When we got up, we saw bright glowing lines that were under the ball, they were somewhat similar to the contrails from the plane, but they were multicolored: pink, green, bluish these lines were intertwined very often, so that no plane could leave them, moreover, such a picture occurred against the background the black starry sky. The blurred ball had already become shapeless, and these lines remained in the sky until sunrise, until they gradually disappeared.
The whole picture made a pretty strong impression on us, and on anyone who watched it, since we had never seen anything like it before. We are not naive people and we do not undertake to claim that it was some kind of alien ship, but still we ask you to explain to us, if possible, what it was, because we certainly were not the only observers of this spectacle. Since the tata commission is collecting such information, we decided to contact them.

Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
