The object in the form of sharply outlined asymmetrical Crescent flew over the mountain astronomical station of the Academy of Sciences.
The object was a little less of the moon (the arc about twenty), with a color, which some observers described as a red, others yellow.
It flew from West to East about twenty degrees above the horizon, moving from URSA major to Cassiopeia in about thirty seconds with constant speed.
Witnesses were A. A. Sazonov, a specialist in the ionosphere; V. A. Zion from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, and seven members of a biological expedition.

8:40 p.m. An object shaped like a sharply outlined asymmetrical crescent flew over the mountain astronomical station of the Academy of Sciences. The object was slightly smaller than the moon, about twenty minutes of arc, with a color described as reddish by some observers, yellow for others. It flew from west to east about twenty degrees above the horizon, moving from the Big Dipper to Cassiopeia in about thirty seconds, at a uniform speed. The witnesses were A.A.
