Le fantôme d’une jeune femme est apparu sur une photographie prise en plein cœur d’une chambre d’hôpital. Au moment des faits, un vicaire donnait l’extrême onction et pratiquait les derniers rites à un patient mourant.

Le malade se nomme Bob Large et il est âgé de 76 ans. L’homme souffrait d’un cancer de la vessie ainsi que d’une insuffisance rénale. Il était en phase terminale et il ne lui restait que quelques jours à vivre. Chris Leadbetter, son petit-fils, lui rendit visite à l’hôpital Countess of Chester, situé dans la ville de Chester, dans le comté du Cheshire, en Angleterre. Il décida de prendre une dernière photo de son grand-père adoré à l’aide de son téléphone portable.

« J’ai pris la photo le jour où je suis parti en vacances car on nous avait dit de nous attendre au pire. »

Le jeune homme tomba des nues quand il vit la présence d’une sorte « d’Ange Gardien » sur le cliché qui paraissait veiller sur le lit du mourant

« Je n’ai rien vu jusqu'à il y a environ une semaine quand je triais les photos de mon téléphone afin d’en supprimer quelques-unes. »

Abasourdi, Chris a montré l'image au personnel médical, mais ces derniers ont simplement haussé les épaules en disant :

« Oh, beaucoup de patients la voient à la fin de leurs vies dans leurs lits. »

Le gestionnaire du service 44 a regardé rapidement la photo, et il a immédiatement remarqué « une jeune fille aux cheveux blonds et portant une belle robe blanche. »

Peu après la prise de cette extraordinaire photo, Bob a guéri miraculeusement. Son état de santé s’est si bien améliorée qu’il a même pu sortir de l’hôpital.

Chris, âgé de 20 ans, s’est exprimé :

« Quand je l'ai vu, j’ai eu vraiment peur. J’ai tellement flippé quand j’ai vu cette image tard dans la nuit. Donc je suis allé réveiller le reste de ma famille immédiatement. »

« Tout le monde dans la famille a été choquée. Ils ne pouvaient pas le croire. »

« Mon grand-père est toujours en vie aujourd'hui et est effectivement sorti de l'hôpital, malgré ce que les médecins ont dit. »

« Il trouve l'image très réconfortante. Il pense maintenant que quelqu'un veille sur lui. »

Pour le photographe, il ne pouvait pas s’agit d’un reflet :

« La chose étrange est qu'il n'y a rien entre mon grand-père, qui est assis sur le coin du lit, et la femme de l'image - pas de verre, ou de fenêtres ou quoi que ce soit. »

« Mon grand-père a appelé la chef de service puisqu’il avait besoin de lui parler de quelque chose. Il lui a décrit parfaitement le fantôme sans voir la photo. »

« Ce ne serait pas la première fois que ce fantôme a été vu. »

Le personnel de cet immeuble bâtit en 1829 sur les ruines du County Lunatic Asylum, un asile, ont rapporté avoir vu de mystérieux personnages par le passé.

De nombreux patients sont décédés dans l'ancien asile, où ils ont été enchaînés et immobilisés dans des camisoles de force tandis que d'autres étaient attachés à leur lit avec des ceintures.

Bob, qui est actuellement en convalescence chez lui, a dit aux médecins et aux infirmières que cette silhouette était son ange gardien.

« L'image représente mon ange gardien. Je suis allé dans cet hôpital, dans le même service tant de fois. »

« Le vicaire vient toujours me voir pour me dire des prières, et je me sens toujours beaucoup mieux. Chaque fois je me sens comme une présence dans la pièce. »

« Je suis persuadé que quelque chose veille sur moi. J’ai l'impression qu'elle est là depuis un certain temps. »

« C’est une chose très étrange. Je ne peux pas l'expliquer. »

« Le visage est très familier pour moi, mais je ne pense pas que ce soit quelqu'un que je connaisse. Je crois que je pourrais reconnaître cette présence. »

The 'ghost' of a woman appeared in a photograph of a dying grandad taken as the vicar read the elderly man his last rites at his hospital bedside.

Ailing Bob Large, 76, had been told by doctors that his bladder cancer and kidney failure were terminal and that he had a matter of days left to live.

During a hospital visit, his grandson, Chris Leadbetter, took what he thought would be a last picture of his grandad on his mobile phone.

However, the resulting snap appears to show something much spookier - a 'guardian angel' figure watching over the man's hospital bed in Chester, Cheshire.

And Bob is certain the spooky apparition is responsible for his turnaround.

Stunned, Chris showed the image to hospital staff, but they merely shrugged it off, saying: "Oh, her. Lots of patients see her at the end of their beds".

The manager of Ward 44, totally unprompted, then went on to describe the "long haired blonde girl in a white gown" captured in the photo.

And to make the scene even more out of the ordinary, Bob not only made a miraculous recovery but has since been released from hospital.Chris, 20, said: "When I saw it the hairs just stood up on me. I was so freaked out. I saw the picture late at night so I went and woke the rest of my family up straight away.

"Everyone in the family was shocked. They couldn't believe it.

"My grandad is still alive now and has actually been released from hospital, despite what the doctors said.

"He finds the picture quite comforting. He thinks that someone is looking over him."

Chris went to visit Bob at the Countess Of Chester Hospital - built on the site of a Victorian lunatic asylum - thinking it would be his final chance to see him.

He said: "I took the picture the day before I went on holiday because we were told to expect the worst.

"I didn't notice anything until about a week ago when I needed to go through my phone and delete some pictures."The strange thing is there is nothing between my grandad, who is sat on the corner of the bed, and the women in the picture - no glass, or windows or anything.

"A few people suggested it looked like a reflection but there is literally nothing for it to reflect off. "

Chris said: "My gran told the ward manager she needed to speak to him about something and the second she said she had a picture of a ghost he described it perfectly.

"He says it's not the first time the ghost had been seen. One patient was screaming in the night because it was at the end of her bed."

Staff at the 1829 hospital building, which was formerly known as the County Lunatic Asylum, Cheshire, have reported a number of mysterious figures.

Numerous patients died at the former asylum, where they were chained up and restrained in strait-jackets while others were tied to their beds with belts.
