Avistamiento de Ovnis al anochecer sobre Wheeling, Virginia occidental.
Sucedió en nuestra casa de Belén, cerca de Wheeling, Virginia occidental, en el verano de 1984.
Mi padre estaba sentado en el porche trasero (un patio elevado, tal vez de 8 a 10 pies sobre el Suelo) escuchando un partido de béisbol. Recuerdo estar sentado en la sala de estar viendo la televisión con mi abuela. Alrededor de las 20:30 (ya estaba oscuro) escuché a mi padre llamarme.
Dijo:
"Ven aquí por un momento".
Me levanté, molesto (como solo puede un adolescente que está siendo interrumpido por la televisión) y fui al otro extremo de la casa. Me paré en la puerta de malla y le pregunté qué necesitaba. Me dijeron que saliera por la puerta.
Cuando caminé hacia la puerta y la cerré detrás de mí, mi padre inclinó la cabeza y señaló el horizonte occidental.
"¿Qué es eso?"- me preguntó.
Me di la vuelta para mirar y vi, por lo que puedo recordar, 5 pequeñas luces blancas agrupadas juntas, moviéndose lentamente de oeste a este. a nosotros. Una de las luces parpadeaba.
"Lo vi durante unos 5 minutos", dijo. "Lo vi volar sobre los árboles. ¿Es un avión o un helicóptero?»
Dije que no, no era exactamente como un avión o un helicóptero. Las luces estaban demasiado juntas y los aviones (y helicópteros) generalmente tenían luces multicolores parpadeando; azul, rojo, blanco, etc. Además, un avión pasó volando (por supuesto, podría haber sido muchas millas, pero desde nuestra perspectiva voló cerca del objeto) y pudimos compararlas. No era un avión.
Lo observamos durante tal vez otros 5 minutos más o menos hasta que estaba casi por encima de su cabeza, y cómo desapareció detrás de la torre de agua del pueblo, que tenía dos lotes en el transcurso de nuestra casa.
Estábamos esperando para salir de detrás de la torre de agua que lo colocaría casi directamente sobre nuestra casa, tal vez a la 1 en punto. Eso nunca sucedió. Miramos hacia el Norte, el sur, el este y el oeste y no vimos ninguna señal de que saliera de detrás de la torre.
No es muy emocionante, pero esta es mi historia sobre Ovnis.

Summary: UFO sighting at twilight over Wheeling, WV. This took place at our house in Bethlehem, outside Wheeling, WV, in the summer of 1984. My father was on the back porch (a raised deck, perhaps 8-10 feet off the ground) listening to a baseball game; I remember that I was in the living room watching TV with my grandma. At about 8:30 PM or so (it was getting dark) I heard dad call me from the back. He said “Come here for a minute.” I got up, annoyed (as only a teenager interrupted from the TV can be), and went the the back of the house. I stood at the screen door and asked what he wanted. I was told to come out of the door. As I came around the door and closed it behind me, my dad inclined his head and pointed toward the western horizon. “What is that?” he asked me. I turned to look, and what I saw were, as I recall, 5 small white lights closely clustered together, slowly moving west-east, toward us. One of the lights was blinking. “I’ve been watching that for about 5 minutes,” he said. “I watched it come over the trees. Is that a plane or helicopter?” I said that no, it sure didn’t look like either a plane or a helicopter. The lights were too close together, for one, and planes (and helicopters) usually have multicolored blinking lights; blue, red, white, etc. Besides, a plane flew past it (of course, it could have been miles away, but from our perspective, it passed close to the object), and we were able to compare the two. It was no plane. We watched it for perhaps another 5 minutes or so, until it was nearly overhead, and as it disappeared behind the village’s water tower that was two lots over from our house. We waited for it to come out from behind the water tower, which would have put it almost directly over our house at perhaps 1 o’clock. It never did. We looked north, south, east and west, and saw no sign of it having come out from behind the tower. Not very exciting, but that’s my UFO story.
