Sally Pike estaba sola en la colina cuando de repente sintió miedo.
Al girar, vio muy claramente los contornos de una figura masculina alta caminando por el camino a la brillante luz de la Luna.
La figura medía unos siete pies (2,1 m) de altura, con brazos muy largos que colgaban flanqueadamente a los lados. No parecía tener cuello, su cabeza parecía levantarse directamente de sus hombros. El cuerpo en sí era casi transparente, solo los contornos eran "sólidos".
Neil Pike, que también estaba de Servicio esa misma noche en la puerta de metal blanco, miró el camino que conducía al puesto militar de Vedette y de repente vio tres figuras gigantes en fila cerca del seto de enfrente.
Su descripción era similar a la de su esposa, excepto que los cuerpos terminaban en la sección media. No podía distinguir las piernas.
Sorprendido, apuntó el rayo de su linterna a una de las figuras altas. Desapareció de inmediato, solo para reaparecer en otro lugar más cerca de él. Encendió una linterna en los otros dos, y sucedió lo mismo. Ahora estaban mucho más cerca de él.
Mientras estaba solo en la colina, entró en pánico y corrió hacia su automóvil, alejándose rápidamente.

Summary: Sally Pike was on a solo watch on the hill when she suddenly became apprehensive. Upon turning she saw very clearly the outline of a tall male figure striding up the road in the bright moonlight. The figure was about seven-foot tall, with extremely long arms, which hung limply at his sides. He seemed to have no neck, his head appearing to rise directly from his shoulders. The body itself was almost transparent, only the outline being solid.

Summary: Neil Pike also on watch that same night near the white metal gates, looked over to the road leading up to a military vedette post and became aware, suddenly of three giant figures standing in a line near the hedgerow opposite. His description was similar to his wife’s except that the bodies ended at the mid-section. He could not discern any legs. Startled, he shone the beam of his flashlight at one of the tall figures. Immediately it vanished—only to reappear at another spot nearer to him. He flashed the flashlight on the other two and the same thing happened. They were now much closer to him. Alone on the hill, he panicked and rushed to his car quickly speeding away.
