Initial data
Tamara Evgenievna Dotsenko writes to the Commission on AYA:
On September 29, 1979, at 8:30 a.m., my daughter came out of the apartment and called me, pointing to the sky. The sky was almost clear, with occasional clouds in some places. In the direction of the northeast, behind a rather transparent oblong cloud, there were some flashes.
The flashes occurred after about 3-4 seconds. there were flashes where it says "bright orange", but not very large ones. It was as if something was puffing while standing still.
When the cloud ended (went away), there was a very bright, strong explosion, as shown on a color TV the take-off of rockets.
During the flash, the brightness diameter increased dramatically, then the flashes began to weaken and recede, and in a few seconds everything disappeared.
In the east, away from these flashes, a rainbow appeared, which disappeared after a few minutes.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
