Initial data
Simonov Alexander Trofimovich writes to the Commission on the:
This happened in early September 1984. I was on another vacation. I went to rest with my parents in the village of Gimolskoye in the Muzersk district of the Karelian ASSR.
About 24 o'clock in the evening (I can't specify the exact day yet), my mother and I were riding a motorcycle from the railway station. They sat down in the mud. The engine stalled. I got down to wind it up. At this time, in the northeast, in a completely dark sky at an angle of about 30-40 degrees to the horizon, we saw a bright purple flash. Within 1-2 minutes. It was growing in size. At the same time, the center was bright, and the periphery grew in concentric rings.
The farther away from the core, the paler the ring. This went on, as I pointed out above, for quite a long time. The phenomenon occupied a significant part of the sky. The dimensions and height, of course, would be unthinkable to determine (even ridiculous). I can only approximately indicate in angular degrees relative to my position (somewhere in the region of 30 degrees from one extreme point to the other).
This phenomenon disappeared not instantly, but gradually, but rather quickly, as if fading away.
I wanted to write about this strange phenomenon right away, but somehow I postponed everything.
Perhaps this is one of the most common atmospheric phenomena. I'd like to know something about it.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
