A man in his 40s was on Board an Ansett 727 bound for Launceston, Tasmania.
Looking down at a 30-degree angle, he saw a spherical shape without wings or lights, moving at the same speed as the plane.
The sun, breaking through the clouds, illuminated it clearly. Its color was described as metallic. It then moved up and North, and was last seen in the back of the plane.
