La ministra afirma que ella y su hija vieron una criatura voladora no identificada que parecía "sacada de Jurassic Park".
Un residente de Texas de 50 años y ávido observador de aves, dijo que estaban en el refugio nacional de vida silvestre Stone Lakes, al sur de Sacramento, cuando la criatura apareció en un claro día de primavera.
"Caminamos y buscamos garzas azules y otras aves migratorias. Mi hija y yo fuimos los primeros en ver el pájaro y ambos lo señalamos, aturdidos y conmocionados, tratando de encontrar una explicación lógica para lo que pensamos que habíamos visto. "
No era una cometa, era un animal real", agregó sobre el supuesto encuentro en 1994.
Un testigo ocular dice que observaron al animal durante unos 20 minutos mientras giraba alrededor del sitio y luego giraba en la otra dirección. Ella explica que si bien esto la pone "nerviosa de admitirlo", el Ave era "muy pterodáctil en forma".
"Ese es el único punto de referencia que tengo. Recuerdo que dije "es imposible ... son una especie extinta". Mi hija, que estaba bien versada en aves extintas, apuntaba constantemente a los rasgos inusuales de este animal."
Él dice que su hija describió a esta criatura con una cola larga y delgada sin plumas y una "cabeza de pterodáctilo". Sus alas, explicó,"no tenían forma de alas de pájaro".
"Tenía un cuello largo, una cabeza larga y un pico largo y puntiagudo. Tenía una gran envergadura, más grande que la Garza azul. Se deslizó muy alto, casi sin aletear sus alas."
El ministro confiesa que en ese momento estaba "un poco asustado" y se preguntaba si esta criatura los atacaría.
"Estaba ansioso por volver al auto. Cuando volvimos, no podíamos dejar de hablar de ello".
Dos miembros de la familia dicen que, aunque hasta el día de hoy no pueden identificar de manera única al Ave como un 'dinosaurio', saben cómo era".
"Esta noche, hablando por Teléfono con mi hija, ambos buscamos en Google fotos de pterodáctilos, y algunos de ellos son como lo que hemos visto. Estábamos familiarizados con la mayoría de las aves debido a nuestra fascinación. No pensé que podría llamar a la sociedad Audubon y decirles sobre la observación porque este pájaro no estaba en su lista.
Lo más probable es que me dijeran que Fallé, lo identificé porque estaba en el aire y que probablemente era una grulla o una Garza. Creer en esto, por supuesto, resolverá todo, pero mi cerebro no se calmará. Lo que vimos no era una grulla ni una Garza. Vimos un animal vivo real que no nos era familiar y parecía que venía directamente de Jurassic Park".
Y este espectáculo, explica, también conlleva problemas sociales y el riesgo de ostracismo, por lo que lo han mantenido en gran parte en secreto hasta hoy.
"Le dije a alguien.... Les dije en realidad, y simplemente me miraron, diciendo: "hmmm wow". No quiero ser ridiculizado y tengo que defender mi historia, que finalmente tengo el coraje de compartir.
Mi hija y yo hablamos de eso a veces. Discutir este tema es como la autoconsulta, nos brinda la oportunidad de compartir esas experiencias nuevamente y reafirmarnos mutuamente. Al menos sabemos lo que hemos visto, y discutirlo es una forma de tratar de mantener viva la historia, resolver el misterio en nuestras cabezas y encontrar algo de comprensión y claridad a lo largo del tiempo.

She explains that even though it makes her “nervous to have to admit it”, the bird was “very pterodactyl in shape”. “That is the only point of reference I have for it. I remember I said ‘that’s impossible… they are an extinct species’. My daughter, who was well read on extinct birds, kept pointing out the unusual features of this animal.” She says her daughter described the creature has having a featherless, long thin tail and a “pterodactyl-like head”. Its wings, she explained, were “not shaped like a bird’s wings”. “It had a long neck, long head and long pointed beak area. It had a large wingspan, bigger than a blue heron. It was gliding very high up, with very little flapping movement of its wings.”The minister admits to being “a little freaked out” at the time and wondered whether the creature would attack them. “I couldn’t wait to get back to the car. When we got back we couldn’t stop talking about it.”The two family members say that, even though to this day they can not positively identify the bird as a “dinosaur”, they know what it resembled. “While on the phone with my daughter tonight we both Googled photos of pterodactyl sightings and some of them are similar to what we saw,” she confessed. “Being birders, we were familiar with most birds. I didn’t think I could call Audubon Society and tell them about the sighting, because this bird was not on their checklist. They would have likely told me that I miss-identified it because it was up in the air, and that it was probably a crane or heron. Believing that would certainly solve things, but my brain wouldn’t rest. What we saw was neither a crane nor a heron. We saw a real living animal that was not familiar to us and looked like it was straight out of Jurassic Park.” And the sighting, she explains, also carries social problems and the risk of ostracization, so they have kept it pretty much a secret until today. “I did tell a couple of people… I told them factually and they just stared at me saying ‘hmmm wow‘. I do not want to be exposed to the ridicule and have to defend my story, which I finally got brave enough to share. My daughter and I talk about it sometimes. Discussing it is like self-counseling, it gives us an opportunity to share that experience again and validate each other. At least we know what we saw and discussing it is one way to try to keep the story alive, unravel the mystery in our heads and find some kind of understanding and clarity as time passes.
